U17 Girls Win Germantown Invitational Tournament On December 7 and 8, the Team Dayton U17 Girls traveled to Memphis to participate in the 24th Annual Germantown Invitational Tournament. Teamwork, speed and superior skills enabled this year's team to win the tournament championship. Overall, the team scored 16 goals in the four games while only allowing one goal. Scores for the games were 6-0 versus the GSC Fury (Memphis), 1-1 versus Hurricane Soccer Club (Oklahoma), 6-0 versus United Quest Red (Georgia) and 3-0 versus the Eagles Soccer Club (Columbus) in the final game. Coaches, Roy Craig and Julie Mendez, felt that the team was generally dominant in all four games, which included the tie with the Hurricanes. While both were very pleased with the championship, they feel that hard work will be necessary to achieve this yearsÂ’ team goals. Team members (pictured below) and
their high schools include: Sarah Bertke (Bellbrook), Rosalyn Craig
