Team Dayton U-13
boys advance to the STATE CUP FINALS with a 3-2 win over Crew Jr. Gold.
Team Dayton U-13 boys advance to the
State SEMI-FINALS
this past weekend. On Sat 9 May the team faced the
Celtics from Beavercreek. In a hard fought battle Team Dayton came
out on top with a 3-2 victory. Moving on to Sunday the team faced
the number 2 seed in the tournament, Team Ohio FC. Play was very
physical and there was no score in the match until about 15 minutes left
to go. Then Team Ohio FC gave up a hand ball foul in the box,
which resulted in 1-0 lead for Team Dayton. Team Dayton was not to
be denied a victory scoring twice more ending Team Ohio's run for the
2009 State Cup. The Team Dayton U-13s are the only boys youth team
to advance to the State Semis from the Dayton area. The final score 3-0 Team Dayton. CONGRATULATIONS!

| Team Dayton 98 played in the Mead Cup Soccer tournament (B10 Gold division) in Centerville, OH, over Labor Day weekend. This is a very large tournament with teams coming from all over to compete against the best. This was only Team Dayton's second tournament to date and they played with great confidence, winning two of their three preliminary games. The final game was played on Monday at 12 noon under a very hot 90 degree sun. But that didn't seem to bother the boys who took the field with high energy and hungry for a first place finish. The game ended with a 5-0 win over Cincinnati Futbol Academy-Thunder Gold from Cincinnati, Ohio. This is certainly another great accomplishment for a newly formed team and a great way to start off the Fall season. WAY TO GO Team Dayton Boys!!! |
